Psychologists Tarnim Sarkes, Herman De Jong and Felicity Duncan support people with trauma-related issues or disorders. These psychologists work with and support people to progress towards good mental health and to reach their full potential in living a better life.
You do not need a referral to book a session with a psychologist unless you want the Medicare rebate. You will then need a referral from your GP

You need to be between 0-16 years to use CAHMS. You need to speak to your GP first before calling CAHMS. To make a referrals you need to call the referral and triage service called CAHMS Connect (1300 222 647).
They work through the Women's and Children's Hospital and support people who have severe and/or complex mental health needs all over South Australia.

You need to be between 4-17 years old to get counselling from Centacare. You can either book a counselling session yourself or ask your a health professional to give you a referral.
Centacare provides individual or family counselling that caters to all people. You can either have a session in person or over the phone. The therapists are trained in various things such as Play Therapy, Mindfulness, Sandtray Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Groups.

They provide short-term counselling which will give you 6-10 session with a therapist but you can have more sessions if approved by the manager.

There is a 4-6 week waiting time to get an appointment.

If you have a student card or concession card the cost is $10. If you don't have student or concession card the initial appointment is $15. Sessions may be free depending on your situation and after it has been discussed with receptionists/counsellors.
Community Access and Services SA (CASSA) – Primary Mental Health Service

You need to be aged 13 years old and over and need cultural and language support to use CASSA, accessed through both professional or self-referral
CASSA supports people from culturally diverse communities. CASSA have bilingual and bicultural workers who can speak the following languages besides English: Vietnamese, Dari, Fasi, Kirundi, French, Swahili, Nepali, Dinka, Arabic.

Your GP or other medical professionals should complete a Mental Health Treatment Plan if they refer you to Headspace.
